Sites of Enslavement: A Roundtable Discussion on Slavery and the Making of New Orleans   illustration

This event will bring academic and public historians together to discuss the central role of slavery in the development of New Orleans’ economy and culture, from its infrastructure and legal structures, to its educational systems and health landscape.  The event is sponsored by the Tulane University History Project and is designed to provide greater context for the project, which includes a charge to research and examine the university’s history and ties to enslavement. 

A reception will follow the roundtable discussion.
