The fourth annual Young Investigators Symposium at the Department of Chemistry has the following objectives:
- To increase student activity in the department
- To enhance the breadth of students' knowledge by exposing them to research of their peers
- To prepare students for participating in and organizing conferences
- To identify students worthy of an award and assign the awards
