The Emergencies in Sports Lab course provides athletic trainers an opportunity to discuss and review emergency action plans while gaining knowledge in the best practices of managing medical emergencies. The program covers the protocols for medical emergencies included with athlete transport, ensuring a smooth transition of care from the Athletic trainer to EMS to the emergency room. Gathering the medical team for simulated practice, ensures more effective and timely treatment provided to athletes during medical emergencies. The information covered by this course allows the sports medicine team, including athletic trainers, to provide the injured athletes with the current, accepted pre-hospital/pre-transport emergency medical care improving patient outcomes overall.
