Historic Digital Secrets: Everything You Need to Know About Accessing Historical Documents Online at Tulane
Tulane University Libraries (TUL) provides access to hundreds of paywalled primary source databases. These databases allow researchers to unlock a wide range of historical documents including newspapers, pamphlets, diaries, correspondence, personal papers, photographs, videos, books, and government, institutional, organizational, and business records.
In this workshop, participants will learn—

what kinds of primary source databases are available through TUL and how they differ from open access resources;

how to discover and access primary source databases through Library Guides, the A-Z Database List, and Library Search;

how to use primary source databases to discover and access historical documents by type, date range, location, event, and/or topic.
Audience

This workshop is geared towards undergraduate students taking courses in the History Department, but is open to any Tulane affiliate interested.
Schedule

5-6pm: Presentation and hands-on workshop. Bring a laptop.

6-7pm: Pizza, refreshments, and social hour with participants and History Department Faculty
