A History of Youth Sexual Cultures: From Calling to Hooking Up illustration

Where did hooking up come from? When did it get here? Why? And is it ending!? The best method of planning for America’s sexual future is by learning from our past. Join Dr. Wade as she guides participants through an interactive history of youth sexual culture in America. Lisa Wade is an Associate Professor of Sociology. She is also a core faculty member in the Gender and Sexuality Studies Program and an affiliate of the Newcomb Institute. This workshop is designed to provide participants with the knowledge to make informed and safe decisions regarding their sexual experiences. Please contact Campus Health/The Well for Health Promotion at whp@tulane.edu at least two weeks in advance of the event if you have accessibility needs and need a disability-related accommodation to participate.
