Speaker: Valeria Umanets, PhD
Bio: Valeria Umanets is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane University. Before joining Tulane, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interests include women and politics, non-democratic political institutions, historical political economy, and post-Communist states. She earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and my MPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford. Her research involves working with archival data, econometric models, elite interviews, and survey experiments.
