Sexual Violence within the Prison System

The Tulane School of Social Work presents Sexual Violence within the Prison System. a panel discussion that includes a former inmate who was a victim of sexual violence while in prison, a former warden of Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola), and a juvenile corrections manager (former TSSW Alum}. The panel discussion will be followed by a question and answer period. The goal is to shed light on a serious, but seldom mentioned human rights issue that occurs in many prisons,  petition the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to investigate this issue in all state prisons and juvenile facilities, and have the Secretary take corrective measures to address this human rights violation and protect potential incarcerated victims.
