16th Annual Tulane Maya Symposium

Event Date

Uptown Campus
Freeman Auditorium

The Middle American Research Institute invites you to join us February 14-17, 2019, at Tulane University and the New Orleans Museum of Art to learn of the recent developments in Maya studies as they relate to the broader topic of collapse. Our great line-up of speakers and workshops will address the issue of political decline over the span of ancient Maya prehistory! These researchers will help us address the topic in a multi-disciplinary fashion and bring attention to recent research in the region.

In collaboration with Tulane's Stone Center for Latin American Studies, New Orleans Museum of Art, and Mexican Consulate in New Orleans, we hope to develop a diverse set of activities and topics for the symposium’s participants and attendees for many years to come!
