Inclusive Excellence: Breaking down barriers to success and recognizing your greatest potential

Dr. Marcus Lambert is a scientist and educator at Weill Cornell Medicine, where he serves as Assistant Dean of Diversity & Student Life in the Graduate School and Assistant Professor of Education Research in the Department of Medicine. Trained in both biomedical and social science research methodology, his research efforts focus on educational and health interventions that improve access, equity and diversity in science and medicine. Two of his most passionate activities include directing a summer research program for undergraduate students and co-directing diversity initiatives for the Office of Student Diversity.

Honored by the U. S. State Department as a Generation Changer, Dr. Lambert is an award-winning speaker, scientist, and educator. He has received numerous awards and honors including the Generation NEXT Leadership Award by the Muslim Journal, the Health and Health Disparities Award of Excellence from Howard University, and the United Nations Impact Award. He has been invited as a guest lecturer at institutions such as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Georgetown University, and The Jackson Laboratories.

Dr. Lambert received his Ph.D. in biomedical science from New York University (NYU) School of Medicine and his bachelor’s degree from Howard University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research from Weill Cornell Graduate School. Dr. Lambert resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and four children.
