Medieval and Early Modern Maps Festival

Please join us on Friday, March 29, from noon to 3:00 for the Medieval and Early Modern Map Festival!

The Hereford Mappa Mundi facsimile (13th century); the Fra Mauro Mappa Mundi facsimile (15th century); and key maps from the Latin American Library and the Louisiana Research Collection, including the earliest maps of New Orleans, will each be on view, along with fantastic atlases from the 17th and 18th centuries. Tulane has a splendid collection of maps, originals and facsimiles!

Librarians, faculty, grad students and undergraduates are all involved in displaying the maps and sharing information on their history, contents, and construction.

The Maps Festival now has an updated start time of NOON instead of 11 am.

For those looking for a preview of the Maps Festival and excellent information about digital scholarship, Lauren Coats will present her talk “Exploring Early America on Page and Screen” on March 27 at 11:00 in Hebert 212.
