JP Messina, a UNO professor, will be speaking about the philosophy of private censorship:

Political theorists and philosophers have devoted much energy to understanding the norms that govern the state’s duties with respect to the expression of ideas, especially under what conditions governments may censor expressive acts. But much less has been written about the stance that private organizations and their leaders should take with regard to censorship. Messina examines how private entities possess the power to censor and lays out basic moral principles governing the practice of private censorship
