The 2019 cohort of the Mandel-Palagye Summer Program for Middle East Peace spent five weeks studying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For three weeks they were based at Hebrew University in Jerusalem learning about a wide range of issues related to the conflict. A central focus was the city of Jerusalem itself: it's importance in the larger conflict as well as the daily lives of people living in and around the city.

Students worked on individual research projects, ranging from the role bilingual schools can have in peace efforts to security measures to protect holy sites.

The week-long research exhibit presents posters the students created based on their original research. Seen together they give interesting and sometimes surprising insights into the complicated conflict and hselp us to gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties faced by those looking for peace.
