Improving Care for LGTB Older Adults

The Aging is Public Health 2019-2020 Seminar Series proudly presents "Improving Care for LGTB Older Adults" featuring Jim Meadows, LMSW, of New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders (NOAGE).

This is the second seminar in the Aging is Public Health 2019-2020 Seminar Series which will take place during the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In addition to our faculty, staff, and students of both downtown and uptown Tulane University campuses, this series is open to members of the New Orleans community to encourage participants to examine their work with a lens of aging and to consider aging as the future of life and work opportunities.

Jim Meadows, LMSW, received his BS in Psychology from the University of New Orleans, and his MSW from Tulane University. He has practiced as a social worker in a variety of healthcare settings, and has worked extensively with older adults. As Executive Director of New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders (NOAGE), he is working to ensure that all LGBT+ people, regardless of age, have the opportunity to live their best lives with the dignity, respect, and good health that they deserve.
