Aging in an East Asian Context: Case Studies of South Korea and Vietnam

The Aging is Public Health 2019-2020 Seminar Series proudly presents "Aging in an East Asian Context: Case Studies of South Korea and Vietnam" featuring Trang Nguyen, PhD, MSW, and NhuNgoc Pham, MPH; moderated by Mark J. VanLandingham, PhD.

This is the third seminar in the Aging is Public Health 2019-2020 Seminar Series which will take place during the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In addition to our faculty, staff, and students of both downtown and uptown Tulane University campuses, this series is open to members of the New Orleans community to encourage participants to examine their work with a lens of aging and to consider aging as the future of life and work opportunities.

Trang Nguyen, PhD, MSW, is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Studies of Displaced Populations. Her research interests include mental health problems, such as depression and dementia, as well as resilience and coping among older adults and their family caregivers.

NhuNgoc Pham, MPH, is a PhD student in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences. She conducted her research in Seoul, South Korea through a Fulbright Fellowship examining the impact of the shifting traditional family structure on the well-being of South Korean seniors.
