He has published extensively in law and social science journals in the United States, Asia and Europe. He has taught at other law schools both in the United States and in other countries such as Australia, Germany, Hong Kong (SAR), and Japan. He has delivered many public lectures at many other institutions, including the University of Antwerp, University of Hong Kong, and the University of Texas (Austin).

Addis’ current research projects include: a study of the idea of dignity in comparative contexts, in both the legal and political domains; and an inquiry into the notion of “belonging” in a world in transition. The latter project is tentatively entitled “The Dignity of Belonging and the Indignity of Displacement.”
