"Rural & Remote: Spatial Practice & New Vernaculars," a lecture by Lola Sheppard (Lateral Office / University of Waterloo).

Event Info: This lecture examines the role of architecture in rural and remote regions, where economies, demographics and culture are shifting. In these contexts, design must embrace change and adaptation, and build for autonomy and self-determination. Negotiating an expanded form of research which embrace questions of spatial practice, the lecture argues for the need for new vernaculars and design practices.
