Celebrate motherhood at Newcomb Art Museum’s spring fundraising event, the Mother’s Day Tiffany Tea! Featuring a delicious high tea service catered by the English Tea Room, live jazz from Sarah Quintana, and an in-depth tour of Tulane’s treasured Tiffany stained-glass windows, this event is guaranteed to be a highlight of your Spring! Honor the special women in your life in a unique setting and support a treasured New Orleans’ institution at the same time! All proceeds from ticket sales support the programs and exhibitions at the Newcomb Art Museum.

Join us on Saturday, May 11 for an in-depth tour of "Per(Sister): Incarcerated Women of Louisiana" led by PerSisters and co-producers of the exhibition Dolfinette Martin and Syrita Steib Martin. Free and open to the public, this tour is an amazing chance to hear first hand how this groundbreaking exhibition came together and learn more about the issues and women represented in the show.

Drop by Newcomb Art Museum for a fun and free crafting afternoon featuring Spring-inspired activities designed for all-ages and led by artist jackie sumell, creator of “A Solitary Garden for Incarcerated Moms." Using pressed flowers from the garden outside the museum, this program features a Mother’s Day card-making station, eco-printing activities and edible flowers. Presented in partnership with Speak Easy Farms, this fun and multisensory event is free and open to all; we invite you to bring the whole family and explore the healing power of plants.

Author and activist Lara Naughton will lead an interactive writing workshop centered on “personal writing for social change.” Supplies and prompts will be provided, all ages and writing levels are welcome. Come tap into your creative side and learn how to make your voice heard!
