Mellon Sawyer Seminar: Screening of The Neutral Ground (2021)

Tulane University's Mellon Sawyer Seminar, hosted by the Newcomb Art Department, will screen CJ Hunt's documentary film The Neutral Ground (2021). The documentary is about memory, monuments, and how to break up with the confederacy. It documents the struggle in the city of New Orleans over Confederate monuments and will serve as the kick-off event for the April Sawyer Seminar (April 5-10, 2022) on Monumental Iconoclasms, which considers contemporary challenges to existing monuments in New Orleans and Mexico City.
