"Wherever you are in the world, rituals celebrate life, healing, and hope. Many of the faithful don’t know exactly where such traditions originated, rituals morphing over time as legends are passed down through oral traditions. When we travel we have opportunities to experience elements of ceremony marked within the cultural context of the places we go and the people we meet.
Take a break with us at Global Cafe! This week's grab and go event hosted by the Office of Study Abroad will feature break time goodies from around the world as well as reading materials that unpack unique tea and coffee based traditions from countries that have hosted OSA summer programs: Senegal, Italy, France, Sweden, and Ireland. Supplies are limited so sign up today to reserve a pick up time!

Remember early in the pandemic when speculation was that the COVID-19 pandemic would wreak havoc on the African continent? Senegal is an example of how early and effective campaigns to combat the spread of the coronavirus could save lives in countries with fragile health care systems. Learn about challenges posed to Senegal during this global pandemic, the implementation of rapid testing, commitment to public health and communication strategy, and future concerns for the nation post pandemic.

The Fellowship was established in 2017 and covers all costs for 10 outstanding students, of a race orethnicity typically underrepresented in study abroad, to participate in a four-week study abroadprogram focused on leadership, intercultural communication, and advancing social justice.
