2021 Marcia Monroe Conery Lecture by Robin Wall Kimmerer

The Tulane Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology is honored to host Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer as the speaker for the 2021 Marcia Monroe Conery Lectureship Series. 

Robin Wall Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She is the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teaching of Plants and Gathering Moss: A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses.

This two-day virtual event will showcase the diversity of health sciences research at Tulane, featuring presentations by students, faculty, and staff university-wide. Please save the date for Part 1 of the upcoming Meta-Analysis Workshop series featuring Tulane University Professor of Epidemiology, Tanika Kelly, PhD, MPH. The workshop will be held on Thursday, September 17th from 2:00-3:30 PM. The goal of the Meta-Analysis Workshop is to provide didactic training on the following learning objectives:

1. Conduct systematic literature searches using large electronic databases and other resources

2. Assess the relevance and quality of scientific publications

3. Extract key data from scientific publications

Faculty Networking Seminars support tenure-track faculty in developing more robust national and international mentoring networks. Sponsoring faculty member(s) are able to invite senior faculty from other institutions to Tulane’s campus to present their academic work and engage in discipline discussions and advising on academic trajectories.
