2024 Gulf Coast Connections

Tulane University's New Orleans Center for the Gulf South, Environmental Studies program, and Center for Public Service, in collaboration with Rice University’s Center for Environmental Studies, are proud to announce the third annual Gulf Coast Connections. On March 1st and 2nd, scholars, non-profit leaders, artists, and architects from across the Gulf Coast will gather on Tulane's campus to learn from each other and foster new collaborations.

Classics Colloquium

The Department of Classical Studies presents the second annual Classics Colloquium on April 13, 2024.

The Colloquium is designed to help undergraduate students refine their conference-style presentation skills in a friendly, low-stakes, and supportive environment.

Kugels & Collards

Kicking off a new partnership with the Museum of Southern Jewish Experience, this delicious event with Kugels and Collards authors Lyssa Harvey and Rachel Barnett. Through recipes and stories, the two food authors will explore the food history, traditions, and memories of South Carolina Jewry. This in-person event at the Museum of Southern Jewish Experience will take place March 14th at 6pm Central; it will also be streamed on Zoom. A book signing and small reception will follow.

Middle East Perspectives

Join School of Liberal Arts faculty experts and university moderators for an academic discussion about Middle East Perspectives. This event aims to provide a space for all interested students to learn more and to foster civil engagement through respectful dialogue. 

Sniffing out Primate Scent Communication

Alice Poirier is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Anthropology & Archaeology at the University of Calgary, AB, Canada. She studies primate sensory ecology, in particular chemical communication in relation to reproduction. Alice’s research integrates diverse fields including animal behavior, biochemistry, molecular biology and evolution.
