Décou-Labat Residences Dedication

Please join us for the ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of the Décou-Labat Residences as we honor the contributions individuals from diverse backgrounds have made to the Tulane community.

The Board of Tulane approved naming Willow Residences, currently designated for the street on which they sit, in honor of the first African American undergraduates to earn degrees from Newcomb and Tulane, respectively: Deidre Dumas Labat (NC ’66, G ’69) and Reynold T. Décou (A&S ’67, ’79).

Tulane Presidential Speaker Series: Justice Sonia Sotomayor

Please join President Fitts and the Tulane community as we launch the inaugural Presidential Speaker Series: A Conversation with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.  

Tickets to the conversation with Justice Sotomayor are available to the Tulane community and all guests will have to present a current Splash Card upon entry. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.—guests must be seated by 4:40 p.m.

University Commencement Ceremony

The University Commencement Ceremony honors the graduating students from all of the university's schools and colleges. It features the pomp and circumstance expected of a traditional commencement celebration with a New Orleans twist. At this ceremony, expect to see the procession of graduates and faculty, the conferral of degrees and hear live jazz.

Wave Goodbye

Wave Goodbye is an annual party for graduates that is modeled after New Orleans' many springtime festivals. All graduates and their guests are invited to mingle on Gibson Quad on the uptown campus on Friday, May 15, 6-8 p.m. The event features local music and a variety of New Orleans food in small plates. Wine and beer will be available for purchase (cash only).

Student Coalition for Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Drop-In Info and Feedback Session

Join the Student Coalition for Sexual Violence Prevention and Response for a look back at the past year and a look at what’s ahead. We want to hear from our fellow Tulane students. Stop in for a snack and provide feedback on the past year’s programming and efforts. You can also share suggestions for the upcoming year and learn more about how you can get more involved in violence prevention and response effort at Tulane.

The Tulane-Aspen Institute Values in America Speaker Series Presents Madeleine Albright, Former Secretary of State

The next Tulane-Aspen Institute Values in America Speaker Series event will feature former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, and be moderated by Tulane professor of history, Walter Isaacson. They will discuss nationalism, populism, and Albright’s new book, Fascism: A Warning. A Q&A will follow the discussion, and there will be a post-event book signing.

This event is free and open to the public.
