2025 Tulane Student Film Festival

Join us for the fourth annual Tulane Student Film Festival and take in a diverse lineup of films from the talented community of filmmakers here at Tulane!

The mission of the Tulane Student Film Festival is to foster a culture of filmmaking on campus, celebrate the diverse talents of student filmmakers and cultivate meaningful connections for their success in the dynamic film landscape of New Orleans and beyond.

This year's festival will feature two screenings

This New Orleans Film Screening, Panel Discussion, & Gun Lock Giveaway

As our last event in National Youth Violence Prevention Week, we’re raising awareness around youth violence and gun violence. On the same evening, you can see a screening of This is New Orleans and receive a gun lock for firearm safety. This powerful, youth-made documentary takes an honest look at the root causes of violence in New Orleans and the urgent need for more resources to support young people. Created by local youth, this film sheds light on the challenges they face, the systemic factors contributing to violence, and their vision for a safer, more supportive community.

Bunchi Film Screening & Director's Talk Back

At once profoundly beautiful, sad, and empowering, the short film Bunchi tells to story of an Ethiopian immigrant family living in Israel. The film follows Bunchi, as she re-discovers herself while caring for her mother-in-law and two teenage daughters after her husband unexpectedly leaves them and returns to Ethiopia. Described as one of the most sensitive and feminist films about Ethiopain-Israeli women, Bunchi re-examines traditional concepts of female identity and familial roles.

Lake Theater doors open at 5:45pm

Film Screening: In Your Eyes I See My Country

Please join The Middle East North African Studies Program for a screening of In Your Eyes I See My Country, a film directed by Kamal Hachkar. Neta and Amit are two artists living in Jerusalem. In life as on stage, they explore their identity and examine their ties to their home country. Revisiting their Jewish-Moroccan musical heritage offers them a way to heal the wounds of exile carried by their parents.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and a reception catered by Green Olives.

The State of Reproductive Rights in Louisiana: 3 years since Dobbs

Join Tulane College Democrats for a panel on Reproductive Rights in Louisiana. We'll be joined by guest speakers and look forward to fostering an informative and open discussion on the realities of post-Dobbs Louisiana. This event is open to all members of the Tulane Community regardless of personal political affiliation. Join us in LBC 201 on Wednesday 4/23/25 at 7:30 pm for this exciting event!
