Silent Scholars’ Writing Retreat

The Silent Scholars’ Writing Retreat brings together faculty, scholars, staff/administrators, graduate students, and community partners with social innovation-themed writing projects.

Doors open at 9am and writing blocks start at 9:30am. Coffee & tea and snacks throughout the day will be provided. Participants bring their own lunch.

FAST 48 XII: A Bootcamp in Design Thinking for Social Impact

The FAST 48 weekend bootcamp that teaches the basics of human-centered design for social impact. Learn via short cycles of individual and group practice, including direct work in the community.

The FAST 48 serves graduate students, staff, faculty, educators, and community organizations interested in learning design thinking for their practice, research, or organizational programs. We welcome artists, creative types, and local social entrepreneurs!

Child-Friendly City Studio Opening

Children will be disproportionately impacted by the decisions made today regarding climate change, transportation, safety, economic opportunity, and public health. However, urban planning has not traditionally prioritized children’s needs.

Join us for the opening of Child-Friendly City Studio – an interactive exhibit showcasing New Orleans’ child-friendly planning initiative – a collaborative effort of PlayBuild NOLA, the New Orleans Mayor’s Office of Youth and Families, global design and engineering firm Arup, and Tulane University’s School of Architecture.

Taylor Student Showcase

The Taylor Student Showcase is a dynamic event to celebrate the CI Social Venture Accelerator graduates and Taylor award winners for 2018-2019. During the event, we have will simultaneous presentations from CI graduates and you will have a chance to “choose your own adventure” and hear from select social ventures that interest you. Open to everyone. Dinner will be served.
