Wave Goodbye

Wave Goodbye is an annual party for graduates that is modeled after New Orleans' many springtime festivals. All graduates and their guests are invited to mingle on Gibson Quad on the uptown campus on Friday, May 17, 6-8 p.m. The event features music from Flow Tribe and a variety of New Orleans food in small plates. Wine and beer will be available for purchase (cash only). Graduates are allotted seven tickets each, one of which the graduate will need to use to enter the party. Children 10 years and younger do not need tickets.

University Commencement Ceremony

The University Commencement Ceremony honors the graduating students from all of the university's schools and colleges. It features the pomp and circumstance expected of a traditional commencement celebration with a New Orleans twist. At this ceremony, expect to see the procession of graduates and faculty, the conferral of degrees and hear live jazz.

 

Tickets are not required. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. 

 

The Tulane-Aspen Institute Values in America Speaker Series

The Tulane-Aspen Institute Values in America Speaker Series event, “When America’s Values are Tested: Lessons from Jefferson, Lincoln and other great leaders in the Age of Trump,” will be held on Monday, October 29 from 1-2 p.m. in Rogers Memorial Chapel. The event will feature American historian and legal scholar Annette Gordon-Reed and be moderated by Tulane professor of history, Walter Isaacson. Gordon-Reed will discuss how we judge Thomas Jefferson, and other important political figures, in light of today’s values.

Masters/PhD Hooding Ceremony

The Masters/PhD Hooding Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 in McAlister Auditorium at 9:00am. 

This ceremony is for students receiving Master's degrees and PhDs from the following schools: Liberal Arts, Science & Engineering, and biomedical sciences in the School of Medicine.
