PHDS: Documentary screening and discussion of "Big Charity"

PHDS (Public Health Doctoral Students group) invites SPHTM students, faculty, and staff to a poignant screening and discussion of "Big Charity: The Death of America's Oldest Hospital." Charity Hospital made major headlines during and after Hurricane Katrina and is the future home of the Tulane SPHTM. Space is limited to 15 attendees. Big Chief, Black Hawk Film Screening & Panel Discussion

Through the eyes of the youngest Black Masking Indian Big Chief in New Orleans, "Big Chief, Black Hawk" explores the effects of gentrification, COVID -19, & other issues The Culture faces.

The panel discussion following the screening will focus on how providing youth opportunities for belonging, responsibility, & support can be important components in reducing their risk of exposure to violence.
