Twitter Archiving for Text Analysis and Visualizations

In this hands-on introductory workshop for researchers in all disciplines, participants will create an application to get live Twitter data, capture it via a Google Sheet, and explore options for text analysis and visualizations.

Requirements: No coding experience is necessary or required. Participants must have a Google account and a Twitter account.

Introducing the New PubMed

PubMed, the largest database of biomedical research, is undergoing a large redesign which will be made live this Fall. In these brief hands-on sessions hosted by Tulane University Libraries, we will explore the changes made to PubMed such as the search interface, results algorithm, navigation, and more. This session would be useful for either the new or experienced PubMed user.

Introduction to EndNote X9

EndNote X9 is the citation management software that not only frees you from the tedious work of manually collecting and curating your research materials and formatting bibliographies, but also gives you greater ease and control in coordinating with your colleagues. In this workshop hosted by Tulane University Libraries, participants will learn how to install EndNote with Tulane settings, create an EndNote library, import search results from databases, and automatically create a bibliography in Microsoft Word.

Introduction to Open Access Publishing & Resources

Curious about publishing in an OA journal but worried about the quality of the publication? Confused over article processing fees, and the different types of open access formats currently available (ex., Gold, green, and hybrid)? This workshop hosted by Tulane University Libraries will provide an overview of OA Publishing, including types of OA policies, resources to evaluate publishers and journals, and how OA can promote your research.

Finding Tests, Surveys and Measurements

Locating the full-test of interview schedules, tests, scales, or measurements can be a very tricky task! This workshop hosted by Tulane University Libraries will cover the best practices on how to locate or identify: 1) Known "unpublished" tests, scales, and measurements 2) Known "published tests, scales and measurements 3) Relevant and reputable tests and measurements for your research question 4) Validity and reliability of tests, scales, and measurements.

Scholarly Identity Management

Take control of your online scholarly presence and reputation. This workshop hosted by Tulane University Libraries will focus on how to manage your online professional identity in order to increase your visibility and impact. Attendees will learn about author identifiers, academic networking sites, and ways to efficiently manage their online presence.
